Reviews: 	John Villaume, “US choir adds lustre”, n.p. 2 Sept. 1979. “… 120-odd committed students from six Australian states … proved … to be a well-integrated body with remarkably pure soprano tone … As the Mozart ‘Requiem’ … did not begin until nearly 9.30, I was unable to hear much of it. What I did hear indicated a performance of great breadth and distinction – a fitting finale to the festival”.

Brumby was commissioned in 1978 and supported by grants from the Music and Literature (for the Thomas Shapcott libretto) Boards of the Australia Council. Also performed Praetorius at an evening service at St John’s Cathedral, 5.30pm, 29 August.
